Describe and explain traditional Korean clothing in English
Traditional Korean clothing is known as "hanbok". Hanbok is characterized by vibrant colors, graceful lines, and a unique design that reflects Korea's rich cultural heritage. The ensemble typically consists of a jeogori (jacket), baji (pants) or chima (skirt), and an outer garment called a durumagi.
The jeogori is a short jacket with wide sleeves that is worn over a blouse or a dress. The baji are loose-fitting pants, while the chima is a full, high-waisted skirt. The durumagi is an overcoat worn during colder weather.
The hanbok is often made from silk or other high-quality fabrics, and the color and design of the garment may vary based on the wearer's age, social status, and the occasion. Traditional accessories like norigae (hanging ornaments) and binyeo (hairpins) complement the overall look. Hanbok continues to be worn during important cultural events, celebrations, and ceremonies in South Korea.
